2025 Updates
All year I wanted to work and bring back the DX EXPLORER Blog together with the updates on PCB Boards and the Gerber files for all the projects I presented on YouTube so far until the end of 2025. One of the reasons was that in time I modified many of the circuits and I wanted to improve the simple designs. Of course in most cases I tried staying as close as possible to the original designs of the authors, but at times modifications were a must to improve performance.
Some of the projects I never had the chance to finish actually, so most probably the first thing after the New Year will be to go back through all the videos and check where I have unfinished projects or missing PCB board designs and take care of those too. For me personally was one of those tough years in many ways, working a lot and not having much free time. I wish I had the time to do this a little more or maybe full time, unfortunately it won’t pay my bills. So I hope you do understand and you have the patience until I get up to date with everything.
PCB Boards Updates
The updates on PCB boards are plain simple. I wanted to fix little issues here in there and to correct the website name as I was using the older one written on them. There were some design changes here and there and also minor adjustments on some of the boards. I tried to also make them as little as possible so we can place the projects in smaller enclosures. And talking about enclosures, I need to find a way to bend aluminum sheet and build my own. Those available online are way too expensive and many times hard to personalize for each project. I explained more about each project in the video above that should cover everything.
2025 PCB Board Designs
Gerber Files
I promised that once all the Gerber files are updated and I finish checking each design by building and testing each project, I will make the Gerber files available to you all. I just received my package from PCB Way with 50 PCB boards that should keep my busy these holidays. With this occasion I must also thank PCB Way for always sponsoring and supporting the DX EXPLORER Blog and also the YouTube channel. Trust me, with ought this partnership I wouldn’t be able to offer you so much. You all know that I do love building Manhattan style, but sadly those copper boards do corrode in time, some in a really ugly way. If we build all these homebrew projects where we spend time and effort, why not building something that also lasts. That is why I prefer to build all my projects using the PCB boards I order from PCB Way.
The Gerber files be will included for free in the downloaded folders of each project as soon as I will have the time to replace them with the new updated version.
Coming In 2026
Since when I started the Blog and the YouTube channel I was also a beginner, I decided to concentrate on projects for beginners like me. That is the reason I presented many simple designs. Little I knew that some of them were simple, but giving you a lot of headaches too. But I did had fun working on all of them and I also learned a ton of new things. Thanks to many of you supporting me, now I also have more measurement gear that allows me to test all the projects in a much better way. This is also one of the reasons I modified many of the designs.
In 2026 I hope I will also start presenting some projects that are a little more complicated and difficult to build. Mostly because they may require more components and hardware. I will still stick to simple analog designs. On my wish list I also had some tube projects for a long time. I didn’t had the chance to build anything. Also from the lack of missing tubes and hardware for tube projects. But I hope I will get into this as well. For now I will thank you all for watching the videos on YouTube for reading the blog articles, supporting me in any way you can even just by sharing my videos and my blog posts. I apologize if somehow I forgot or I was late answering any of your emails, it was a tough year and it was hard to keep up with emails. Especially to my good old friend Nigel – ZL1NAY that I haven’t wrote in a long time. I am wishing you all happy holidays, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year close to family and friends.
